We’ve always believed a good cup of coffee can do more than get you through the morning. It can bring people together, and sometimes it can help a neighbor who needs it. That’s the idea behind Coffee for a Cause, our partnership between Disco Roasters and the Cool Kids Campaign.
About the Cool Kids Campaign
The Cool Kids Campaign is a non-profit founded in 2006 that supports families affected by a pediatric cancer diagnosis. With clubhouse locations in Towson, MD and Huntersville, NC, it has supported nearly 1,900 families through free programs.
Those programs are designed to help the whole family, not just the patient, and include:
- Family programs and celebrations
- Support groups
- Camp days
- Virtual programs
- Tutoring
- Week-long family vacations
A cancer diagnosis changes everything for a family. Spaces and programs where kids can be kids, and where parents and siblings can find support from people who understand, matter a great deal. Huntersville sits just down the road from our roastery in Mooresville, so this is a cause that feels close to home for us.
The Coffee for a Cause Bag
Our Coffee for a Cause bag is filled with Urban Blend, a light roast blend of Colombian, Guatemalan and Ethiopian coffees with notes of milk chocolate, roasted nuts and citrus zest. We roast it in-house at our Mooresville, NC roastery, the same way we roast every Disco Roasters coffee.
What makes this bag special is on the outside. The artwork was designed by Cool Kid Paxon Ton, and we’re proud to have it on our shelves and in our customers’ kitchens.
How Your Purchase Helps
It’s simple: $5 from every bag goes directly to the Cool Kids Campaign. The bags are 12 oz and cost $25. Every one you brew, share or give as a gift helps support the free programs Cool Kids Campaign offers to families.
